1. Boston built the first subway system in the United States in 1897.
2. The Boston Tea Party reenactment takes place in Boston Harbor every December 16th.
3. The first church of Christian Science was founded here by Mary Baker Eddy.
4. There are duckling statuettes in Boston Commons (park) from the book Make Way for Ducklings.
5. The "Cheers" restaurant (from the TV show of the same name) is a real place where you can eat and get a drink.

"Northeastern has the benefit of being an urban university, and thus the local atmosphere is not limited to the campus pub and a greasy pizza pit. We're a stone's throw away from Fenway Park: the Green Monster, proud home of the Boston Red Sox. If you're looking for a good taste of some Boston pride, swing by when the Yankees are coming to town. Not to forget the Celtics or Bruins, who play in the Fleet Center next to the North End (a short T-ride away), which, incidentally, is where Northeastern commencement is also held."

"Oh, the joys of being young and in college. NU is full of attractive people, and most of them are just waiting to hook up. The problem is the communication; students seem to need some sort of dating guide, because both girls and guys don't know how to treat each other properly. For every good relationship, there seems to be about ten bad ones."
