The Flower You Once Held is a collection of poetry full of the emotions that have taken Afton Zabala-Jordan through the painful experiences of her life. From the pain of lost love to the terrible stirrings of suicide, the searing emotions embedded in each of these poems will take the reader on a non-stop rollercoaster. Writing these poems helped her to move beyond the pain and hurt of these experiences; to find a more balanced life.
Tears Fall Colliding together are my emotions of failure saddening me.
Shaking with fear, I cry.
I let my tears fall at night,
I try to keep them at bay during the sunlit hours,
my mind is blurred with pain.
Sorrow sinks into my mind,
and my body.
Tears fall as I hope,
I pray,
and I dream that my own life will be born in due time.
Hoping this sadness will end,
and this pain I feel will heal.
God, I plead to you while my tears fall,
save me from this hurt,
this pain that ceases to end.
Save me from this after effect of the collision...
