I knew this was coming but it didn't make it any easier...
Goodbye, Kikyo, a character who really, truly grew on me throughout this re-read to the point where she became my new favorite character of the series. She entered the story as someone full of anger and vengeance but left true to her real self: someone with a strong sense of duty with a noble spirit. These types of characters are my favorite and yet they seem to die more often than not. Why me?! Rumiko Takahashi gave Kikyo a beautiful send-off and I'm glad she was able to reach closure with Inuyasha and vice-versa.
I believe this is also the last of Koga, since he lost the Shikon shards in his legs and had what seemed to be a very final scene with Kagome. I have to say, he also grew on me towards the end and I'll miss him!
Lastly, we see Sesshomaru meeting up with his mother and then he ends up in the underworld with Rin and Kohaku. For some reason I thought Sesshomaru's mom was already dead but nope, she's still kicking. Strangely, this is the part I definitely remember I left the story on, so why didn't I remember anything else before this? Maybe I skipped around? Who knows. But this is truly uncharted territory for me at this point besides the epilogue, so I look forward to the next volume!
