I've followed this series for a long time and have kept up with all the different variations of this series. The manga and the J-drama are by far my preference, but I will say this... this volume is one of my absolute favorites. You can really tell the art has changed over time for the better, it's become much softer and beautiful, and as far as the content, I find Rui's confession and friendship to Tsukushi to be so enduring but there's definitely a marker of closure here. I also think Rui is a catalyst for Tsukasa to get a wake up call. And the simple way that Tsukishi helps Tsukasa's mother is enduring and I love how it turns the tables on the whole situation. This volume is definitely a turning point, and for the better too.
