1900. English novelist, journalist, sociologist, and historian, famous for his works of science fiction, Wells's best-known books are The Time Machine, The Invisible Man and The War Of The Worlds. Wells moved into the novel genre with Love and Mr. Lewisham, the story of a young man who seeks to better himself and achieve success through educational achievements, however, as his love life begins to interfere with his goals it also looks at the dilemmas faced by a young man torn between love and career.
