This book follows a small group of assorted animals that are trying to find shelter as a storm rolls in over the field in which they live. As the storm begins to develop, the animals seek cover in a close by cave one at a time. This book is an excellent way for emergent readers to follow along and count with the teacher as they read while exercising their math skills and attempt to guess what will happen in the plot with opportunities of foreshadowing. The story builds steadily and follows each of the animals as they run from the evolving rain and thunder with a surprise ending- they're not alone in the cave!
