One encounter with the present world and even Christians may question Jesus' promise of peace. Terrorists, cancer, death of our loved ones, broken families, and loss of income are just a few of the fiery trials that confront us. Jesus said that our world will wax worse and worse. How can we bear more if our personal world has collapsed and we've lost all hope? If our minds cannot turn off the agonizing replay of our pain, and our prayers go unanswered, where do we go for help? The peace God promises does not mean the escape from trials. In fact, it is in the "eye of the storm" that He brings the peace, which "passes all understanding" and holds us in awe of His power to still our hearts.
Why are so few Christians experiencing this peace? Doing a right thing in a wrong way will not bring relief. David learned this lesson when he sought to return the Ark of God to the City of David (2 Samuel 6). Instead of carrying it the way God instructed, he followed the same manner that the enemy used. The result was not victory, but even more anguish. Relief from our suffering is ours for the taking, but we must follow God's word to find His peace, the hidden treasure.Login|Complaints|Blog|Games|Digital Media|Souls|Obituary|Contact Us|FAQ
