Wall Street Stories Book

Iris inherits two ranches in the area of the Lewis and Clarke expedition in Oregon. The family is of course dysfunctional: dad is abusive to all; mom, an aging beauty, is a bit gnarly herself; brother is dad's main target; and an aunt is an amazing artist and perhaps a bit schizo. Iris tries to maintain her balance through it all and then she is sued for mom's ranch, the Heart of the Beast by the Nez Perce tribe because it is scared ground. Iris is very empathetic to their cause even though she feels the pull of ownership. It remiinds me of the situation in Zimbabwe and other African nations. Who rightfully owns the land? The ending is a bit too slick for me, but is is really a good read. I can't recommend this highly enough.
