This is a good introduction to control theory. This is the theory of how machines can be used to control certain systems, often electronic or digital machines. A very simple example would be using a thermostat to control temperature in a house, but this book gives more advanced examples.

Mr Bolton's book explains the subject in a very clear and straight-forward way. It's easy to follow, and suitable for someone learning about control theory for the first time. In fact, quite an enjoyable book!
