Santanoni explores the full story of Camp Santanoni, one of the largest and most distinguished of the "Great Camps" in the Adirondack region of New York State. It tells the story of the Pruyn family of Albany, New York for whom the camp was built; the architects and designers who brought the Pruyn's vision to fruition in more than four dozen buildings on 12,900 acres; and of an active life at camp exploring the surrounding lakes, forests, and mountains. It also tells the story of Camp Santanoni in the last half of the 20th century, in the hands of subsequent owners, in the neglectful hands of New York State, and its rescue from certain doom by a unique partnership of Adirondack Architectural Heritage, the Town of Newcomb, and the Department of Environmental Conservation.
