A collection of incidents taken from everyday life in which Granny draws lessons of faith, devotion, compassion, and trust.
From the matrilineal society of Kerala in southern India come these stories, recalled by the author from tales told in his childhood by his grandmother. The stories are short, and have fairly clear pedagogical points to make. Most are interesting in content, although the adult voice of the author is sometimes too clearly in evidence. Jerebek's illustrations have a light and pleasing touch, and she seems to have researched the locale and time very carefully.
