I Am Aztlan
I cannot say that I read every article in this brick of a book. However, those that I have read have been well-read, interseting, and thought provoking. As I consider the sources of race oppression, it becomes more and more apparent that power is maintained through two mechanisms: 1) Create a dichotomy (us v. them) 2) Make sure that "us" is very hard to define. In other words, it can be fluid and broad enough to be called "normal." This book was the first to illustrate this pattern for me and it has replicated itself over and over.
