Seasons of Penguins
Whales, a magnificent example of lifeーbeautiful, enormous, intelligent and highly social. Whale Rescue by Erich Hoyt tells about the endangered giants of the sea, the Whale. In my opinion, this nonfiction book is great. It tells me how important it is to take care of the endangered wildlife.
Whales are champion swimmers and divers. They have a thick layer of blubber to protect from the cold. Blue Whales, which is 33.5 meters and 190,000 kilogram, is the largest animal that has ever lived. Whales live in almost every ocean. Whales travel in search of food or a safe area to raise their young. The journey can be as long as 8000 kilometers. Even though whales are great, there are many countries that kill whales for oil and meat. In Faroe Island, the sea runs red with the blood of the whales and dolphins that were killed. In all, since 1986, more than 25,000 whales have been killed through legal loopholes.
Overall, I think whales are very attractive animals. They have lots of remarkable parts that are different from the other sea creatures. I recommend Whale Rescue by Erich Hoyt to the type of reader that loves to read about sea creature and some endangered animals.
