A Gift for Gita Book

"A Gift for Gita" is a beautiful story about family and change. Gita and her family moved to her new country three years ago, her grandmother from India is visiting. Meanwhile, her father gets a letter with a job offer for a job back in India. This stirs up many emotions and feelings. Gita is torn, she loves her new home, her friends and experiences, but she also misses her home country of India. She misses her grandmother very much. Gita doesn't want to leave her new home. She wants her grandmother to stay but she doesn't want to leave what she loves in India. Gita understands and is happy to stay. This story shares the struggles that new families might have to deal with and how it could affect their families. Change is hard, and Gita expressed how she overcame the challenges when she arrived but now she considers this her home. I can't imagine how difficult it would be to have to think of giving up something I loved and move back to a place that I also loved and have to choose between the two.
