Paul Bowles was asked by a book/magazine editor to keep a diary. Bowles does. Most of his entries are rather funny, as he is often pestered by fans and people writing articles about him. His posse is an odd sort of Americans and Moroccans, and I'd love to know the full story of how they all met. Later in the diary, Bowles attends the famous Malcom Forbes birthday party, attended by many celebrities, notably Elizabeth Taylor, and known for its extravagance. There's a weird time when the Rolling Stones come to Morocco to film with some Moroccan musicians, and Bowles ends up having a nice chat with Mick Jagger.
Not a lot of meat to this book, but I enjoyed it anyway. Bowles has a nice writing style when conveying personal information.
