D. H. Lawrence and New Mexico Book

This was provided as a review copy. I studied Lawrence many years ago as part of my degree and at the time read many of his books and some of his poetry but paid little attention to the man aside from the obvious Sons And Lovers aspects. This book gives an eminently readable and fairly balanced account of his life. It does not go into great detail and nods to his work rather than offers any discussion of that work beyond the headlines. What does emerge is a picture of a man and his life that can be read much as a novel and is quite a pleasurable read. I found it a rounded and informative book that offers a considered view about him without the agenda other writers have had.
