The organic suburbanite
The cute/kitschy retro photos make this a fun book to explore. There are a lot of good ideas about "going green" in this book, many of which I've seen elsewhere but some I've never heard of. This puts it all together into a handy, reference for the guilty suburbanite (like me) who is trying to reduce the impact of our lives on the local environment.
I am, however, questioning the author's use of certain chemicals to ward off pests in the garden. From my perspective, this is not organic thinking. Using natural enemies like ladybugs, bats and nematodes are earth-friendly alternatives. To me, chemicals in the garden is not organic.
