I really enjoyed this book. It provided a really detailed history of an organization that I didn't even know the importance of. It was rather dull at some points (mainly when Lewis is discussing the money aspects), but this long-term extensive analysis of the history of the Chicago Historical Society is really valuable. How the institution made transitions and shifted power is key to its history as a museum. Really good read for anyone interested in museums and public history.
