In 1931, Robert Johnson sold his soul to the devil, receiving legendary blues skills in return. He recorded only 29 songs before he was murdered in 1938. In 1992, Johnson appears on the Spokane Indian Reservation and meets Thomas Builds-the-Fire, the storyteller of the Tribe. So begins the mythic tale of Coyote Springs, an all-Indian Catholic rock'n'roll band.
