Joe Brown's Pets: The Georgia Militia, 1862-1865
This was a very informative book about the Georgia Militia during the Civil War. Georgia sent many, many soldiers to the "regular" Confederate States Army, and I had no idea that then - Gov. Joe Brown was very much against conscription. He believed soldiers from his state should be allowed to remain in Georgia for its defense.
The book was a good read and not too dry, as many books of this subject are. I feel a bit more knowledgeable now, and that's a good thing!
