Motherhood Book

This extremely interesting book was written by a psychiatrist and examines the psychology and emotional experience of motherhood. i really like how she explores the mother-child relationship as it pertains to the experience of becoming a mother. in other words, the quality of your relationship with your own mom affects your perception of yourself as a mother. women who have troubled relationships with their own mothers tend to feel much more inept, frustrated, and overwhelmed. also, having a baby can bring to the surface lots of old issues stemming from one's own infancy- especially in regards to how you & your mother related to one another. fascinating.
