The World Of Orderic Vitalis
Not exactly what I hoped for but still informative. I bought this book for research on the period. Lots of brief examples of the lives of Norman monks like Orderic and Norman knights, but I was hoping for more on how monks interacted with the secular world as clerks and chaplains. For someone keenly interested in Orderic's life or in depth information on monasticism, this is a good introduction.
