Embrace the dawn Book

I read a lot of Kathleen Morgan years ago when Christian Bookstores were a-plenty...loved the stories. This book was good...then it seemed to drag on a bit. I finally was just wanting it to finish.
I grant you I liked the characters, but felt Ms. Morgan had done better in other works. The heroine confused me. First she was just as confused about God's Will and her life as the hero...then it felt like the hero was the only one with the big issues. Yes, she had been defending herself when she killed her husband, but the nurse of his first wife was always the biggest problem. I feel, especially for time frame, she would have been in conference with the priest as much, if not more, than Ruarc. I do like the fact that this book had me researching the historical aspect and true life characters.
Maybe book 2 will have more equally confused main characters. (Ok. That may not sound right, but you may understand).
