Exploring during the Age of Exploration was fraught with violence and danger as well as thrilling discoveries and beautiful lands. Kids will be introduced to the complex issues of land ownership and political intrigue, as well as the interconnections between the history of a people and the history of the land that they called their own.Prince Henry of Portugal explored much of Africa before returning to Portugal to begin the world's first school of navigation. Students will learn about early navigational tools and challenges as they follow Henry and his explorers around Africa to the blood-red sea.
