Tarrying with the Negative: Kant, Hegel, and the Critique of Ideology Book

Zizek is great because he's so accessible. For reasons surpassing my understanding, many theorists seem to try their hardest to be an unapproachable as possible with their language (Lacan literally did do this, but for good reason). Sometimes I wonder if it's just to keep us from admitting that the Emperor is naked.

Regardless, Zizek's biggest strength is that he gives insight and perspective to incredibly difficult writers (Let's face it, Kant and Althusser are nearly impossible to read. Have you read any Kant or Althusser all the way through? I have, because I was forced to. But I didn't like it. And I'd be willing to bet anyone who claims they genuinely enjoyed the writing is lying, either to themselves or everyone else.) without being incomprehensible himself, or overcompensating and sounding like Hegel for Dummies.

This is especially necessary when dealing with Ideology, which too often is plagued by relatively simple analysis obfuscated by impenetrable language.
