Mythologies of vision
This book was interesting. It had some strengths and weaknesses. Some weaknesses were that it glazed over history and it did a lot of generalizing about American traditions. This could help to teach that not everything in non-fiction books are true. Some strengths were the interesting excerpts that are not always included in books about thanksgiving. It taught about the "average American" Thanksgiving, and the traditions that go along with it. Such as football and the Macy's day parade. This book would be good to teach children from other countries about a generalized American Thanksgiving.
