Japanese Landscapes: Where Land and Culture Merge
This "historic compendium" is moderately interesting in terms of its history and its content about art. Still, I'd probably recommend something else for either distinct purpose. More recent art history texts are surely more up to date and omit little of that which was observed in 1899. The illustrations do provide a solid cross-section of the forms and styles from past periods.
