Life in Color: The Visual Therapy Guide to the Perfect Palette--For Fashion, Beauty, and You! Book

I picked this book up at Goodwill because I'm a sucker for color and fashion typing systems such as "Color Me Beautiful" and Kibbe. I enjoyed it! At first glance, I found the Style Types too pretentious but I realized that I have simply "opted out" of fashion until this point because I've been overweight since my teen years and buying clothes is just not fun. When I took the Style Type quiz, I got mostly Bohemian because of my love of jeans and a secondary Classic result. This book helped me realize that I actually favor the Classic look with a touch of Whimsical. I wish the book had gone more into detail about how to craft a wardrobe using your Style Type but I suppose the emphasis of this particular book is color. I am a Star color type. I do think the color types are a bit limited; I favor the expanded Color Me Beautiful seasons that take into account variations in a person's coloring. My friend is an Earth color type but the Earth color palette is a bit too rich for her. She needs muted shades. In the seasonal color system, she would be a Soft Autumn. However I do think this is a great book that can be useful in helping people discover their best colors and style preference. I'd be interested in reading more from Jesse Garza and Joe Lupo.
