American Civil War -- an English View: The Writings of Field Marshal Viscount Wolseley
Much as I would love to describe this book as a "laundry list of deviancy", I can't quite bring myself to do it. Yes, it reads like a laundry list, with descriptions of court cases, arrests and charges of indecency tumbling one after another with hardly a sentence in between. But there are hints behind the lists of some interesting characters and fodder for some good stories.
Be warned: He is non-judgmental to a fault, and left me feeling at times that he was being too lighthearted about things that I find it hard to be lighthearted about (like rape and pedophilia).
