Fantastic opera Book

Fantastic Opera features twenty-eight principal operas, drawn from many of those best known and best loved, including Le Nozze di Figaro, La Boheme, Aida, and the Ring Cycle, and from the earliest performed to more modern creations such as Billy Budd and Antony and Cleopatra. Themes of love, betrayal, failure, triumph, and death are rendered in 49 illustrations by John Martinez, whose gouache and pencil drawings suggest imaginary productions and fantasias on plot and character. Complementing the drawings is the text by F. Paul Driscoll, which offers gossip, musical trivia, and background information on the operas and their composers.
