The Robert E. Lee Family Cooking and Housekeeping Book
Part cookbook, part family history, very interesting look at life in a Victorian home. It's hard to realize how much work cooking was a century and a half ago. I see where some traditions in Southern cooking come from... these recipes have no end of butter, eggs and bacon. Certainly no one knew about cholesterol in those days.
