When I Feel Scared Book

Children often feel afraid. This book, with its comforting words and illustrations, will help children address those fears and learn some new ways to cope with being afraid.

A young bear illustrates the fears that young children may have. For example, he is scared when he hears a loud noise or has a bad dream. Of course, he is scared when his mother goes away. Sometimes he does not know why he is scared, but he knows that scared is a cold, tight feeling that makes him cry and want to hide. But he knows how to get rid of the feeling. Number one is having someone to hold him. He needs to talk about what scares him. He needs to cuddle with someone. Then he lists some things he knows he should not do. He knows that when his mother goes away, she is coming back. That is probably his biggest consolation.
