Cultures of the Jews Volume III: Modern Encounters
I really liked that this was a simple overview of the intertestamental period. Of course, there is only so much depth you can go into when you're covering a 500 year time frame in a couple hundred pages, but I honestly wasn't looking for a ton of depth. The one complaint I have is that I didn't love the way it was organized. Instead of looking at the same group of people multiple times from different perspectives, I would've rather had everything in chronological order because it would've been easier for me to understand and retain. I really liked how much it helped me gain a better understanding of the culture and politics at the opening of The New Testament.
