Un libro molto curioso, che attraversa delle tematiche molto trasversali. Ben fatto e ben strutturato (del resto è Piccola Biblioteca Einaudi).
Il tema dell'oblio della modernità , però, è completamente schiacciato sulla analisi politico-economica del capitalismo. Il rapporto di causa ed effetto fra i due fattori, capitalismo e oblio, è troppo generale, non si prendono in considerazione degli altri fattori sociali della modernità (che poi sarebbe la contemporaneità ) che portano, questo sì, ad un oblio deliberato e spesso dannoso per la memoria collettiva e culturale di una società .
