BACK FLAP
Dr. Kevin Leman is an internationally known psychologist, humorist, and radio and TV personality. He is the best-selling author of The Birth Order Book, Making Children Mind without Losing Yours, and more than twenty-five other books. He is former consulting psychologist for Good Morning America and a frequent guest for CNN's American Morning, The View, Oprah, NBC's Today, CBS' The Early Show, and Focus on the Family. Dr. Leman is founder of Matchwise.com. He and his wife, Sande, live in Tucson, Arizona. They have five children and two grandchildren.
Kevin Leman II graduated with honors from the Ringling School of Art and Design in Sarasota, Florida, in 2000. As a freelance writer/illustrator he has worked with NBC, Intel, and Disney. When Kevin is not drawing bears, he is happy to be working on the writing staff of the funniest show on daytime television. He lives in Burbank, California, with his beautiful wife and two adorable children. Well, actually . . . he doesn't have any kids or a beautiful wife . . . but his car has a tape deck!
A mother bear reassures her only cub that he is loved. They look at a photo album and see pictures of preparations for his birth and homecoming party. Mama Bear tells of Only Cub's special traits such as being patient, reliable, and knowing what he wants. His desire to keep things in order is shown by not wanting food on his plate to touch each other. He also has a great imagination, which offsets being alone. The text is framed on a soft yellow background. The photos in the bear's picture album have captions and corner photo mounts. The faces of the bears look very human. This is a "Birth Order" book by a father-son team. Only children and their parents may find affirmation and an increased sense of identity as they compare their experiences with those of Only Cub. 2005, Fleming H. Revell Publisher/Baker Publishing Group, Ages 4 to 8.
