Chapter 1 of the first volume of Pannenberg's _Systematic Theology_ beings with the truth of Christian doctrine as the theme of Systematic Theology. Pannenberg focuses on an overview of theology and his theological methodology. He also expounds upon dogmatics and Systematic Theology. Additionally, he lays down a foundation for his _Prolegomena_.
Chapter 2 discusses the question of God and the question of its truth. After discussing the term God, Pannenberg overviews Natural Theology and its criticism. He also outlines the classic proofs for the existence of God.
Chapter 3 focuses on the reality of God in the experience of religion. Pannenberg begins with an emphasis on the concept of religion and the knowledge of God. He also examines the anthropological and theological nature of religion. Pannenberg also discusses the plurality of other religions and their deities. Additionally, he covers the question of the truth of religion and the history of religions.
