Angler's Eldorado
I have to keep reminding myself that this book was a product of its time. I enjoyed it, but I didn't enjoy the sexism, racism or kill-every-fish approach to fishing. The second half, which deals with the mighty Tongariro River, is captivating and there is no denying Grey's consummate skill as a writer; his prose can be magical when he wants it to be. Well worth the read for those moments...
