This started out promising but turned into a soap opera in the end. Nobody seemed to be able to make up their minds who they loved and it stopped me from building any great attachments to the characters. Having said that, I did love Gill's development of the setting. Berry Edge was certainly interesting and sometimes reminded me of the novel North and South. I just would have enjoyed it more with less twists and turns and a little more depth to the characters.
