, but on Wednesday my boss have a seminar, and the lecturer going to give away a book that inspired a movie that likes "Pharaoh", then discovered that Pharaoh was based on a novel by the Polish positivist writer Boleslaw Prus directed by Jerzy Kawalerowicz.
The theme is very interesting I unfortunately during the race never had the opportunity to deeply in the history of Egypt (something, which I regret) and why I feel hunger for this topic. I believe that the book of Boleslaw Prus has been praised, because it is the manuel on the left header. What it proclaims but the attempt of a Pharaoh fictitious, although Prus believed in the existence of this Pharaoh Ramses XIII, who tries to impose a secularizing policy against Egyptian clergy and fails. It is the struggle of the individual against tyranny, and is what makes the novel by Mika Waltari mythical and real. Here is a struggle of antagonisms that end up boring the reader, and that resolves in a way very chusca, as if it were a novel juvenile of Mark Twain, or a Tintin comic. It is good for young people, but not for experienced readers. If one fascinated me thing the novel by Prus the appearance of the Doppelgänger or double evil, you're very present in German romanticism. In this case the nemesis of Ramses to part of Herhor is a mercenary Greek venal, and without scruples. Some character deserves attention as Pentuer, the effeminate Thutmose. Also interesting is the dilemma of whether foreign Yes (in this case the Phoenicians are the scapegoat), or secularist policies to follow. Yet it is the worst title so far, although it is no worse than other titles I've read. I wish a better fortune to Prus at a future time , and to the reader or user of Goodreads if it reads it hope, who likes more than to me.

Damas y caballeros hoy me propongo un reto difícil escribir dos críticas en un día. Sabiendo, que yo escribo críticas muy largas, y pesadas :-), y que anoche dormí poco será un auténtico reto, para mí. En un principio iba a escribir la crítica del “Pueblo de las ocho tumbas” del interesante Seishi Yokomizo , pero resulta que el miércoles mi jefe tiene un seminario, y al conferenciante le voy a regalar un libro que inspiró una peli que le gusta mucho “Faraón”, después descubrí que Faraón estaba basada en una novela del escritor positivista polaco Boleslaw Prus dirigida por Jerzy Kawalerowicz.
El tema es muy interesante yo por desgracia durante la carrera no tuve la oportunidad de entrar con profundidad en la historia de Egipto (algo, que lamento) y por eso siento hambre por este tema. Por desgracia son muy pocas las novelas de Egipto que me hayan gustado, aunque hay una memorable “El egipcio” que es muy interesante comparar con esta también está aunque no la termine “Memorias de Cleopatra” de Margaret George, que le gusta mucho a mi hermana. Yo lo que leí me gusto, aunque no soy muy fan de la autora por su anticatolicismo, y la hispanofobia que mostró en su novela sobre María Estuardo, pero su novela de Cleopatra estaba bastante bien Hay escritoras a las que debería echar un vistazo como Pauline Gedge o a Judith Tarr también sería interesante echarle un vistazo a la novela de mi amigo Manuel Alfonseca “La herencia del Rey escorpión” Tengo algo de Christian Jacq, pero no me llama mucho la atención también me gustaría darle una oportunidad a Francis Fevré y su “Faraón” fue uno de los títulos emblemáticos editados en los 80 del siglo pasado en un momento en que se editaban cosas de calidad, joyitas
Ciertamente la memoria ya no me funciona tan bien como antes por esta razón he acelerado la realización de la crítica de la novela de Boleslaw Prus. Como se me habían olvidado algunos de los personajes. Decidí escribirla antes de dársela al amigo de mi jefe. Si dije que la novela de Fevré era o podía ser una joya. Por desgracia no puedo decir lo mismo de la novela de Boleslaw Prus (seamos sincero me apetecía escribir una crítica de un libro que no me había gustado). Esta novela me vino muy recomendada, porque los críticas se habían rendido ante ella, y la habían alabado. En parte por la película polaca de los años 70. Esta era una novela, que había aparecido en los 1001 que había que leer antes de morir, y en mi opinión si ustedes se mueren antes de leer este libro no creo, que lo lamenten mucho sinceramente. Como decía un personaje de G.K. Chesterton el Coronel Pound “libro elogiado más de lo justo” . Ciertamente este libro se nos vendió se nos ha vendido como un libro del gobierno, de la pasión de mandar, como funciona el poder, pero en mi opinión no aporta nada. Creo que el libro de Boleslaw Prus ha sido elogiado, porque es el manuel de cabecera de la izquierda. Que es lo que pregona sino el intento de un Faraón ficticio, aunque Prus creía en la existencia de este Faraón Ramses XIII, que intenta imponer una política secularizadora, contra el clero egipcio y no lo consigue. No he podido empatizar nada, con el que según muchos es el adorable cachorrillo, que intenta luchar contra la teocracia y mostrando en una visión Hobesiano lo maravilloso, que es que el Estado controle nuestras vidas. Debemos hablar un poquito de Prus un escritor, que se sublevó contra Rusia, pero fracasó, y desde ese mismo momento tuvo un trauma, que no superó por lo que se alineó a diversas teorías hoy fracasadas la de Comte (para desenmascarar a Comte yo recomiendo la lectura del capítulos del libro “60 preguntas sobre ciencia y fe: Respondidas por 26 profesores de Universidad” coordinado por Francisco José Soler Gil, y Manuel Alfonseca este capítulo acabarán con la visión idílica que pudieran tener del positivismo. Otra influencia de Boleslaw Prus fueron Herbert Spencer, y Herbert George Wells (que podrá destacar por sus novelas de ciencia ficción, pero no por su visión de la historia, que ha sido francamente superada Pensaba a diferencia de su compatriota Henryk Sienkiewicz , que Polonia podría recuperar su independencia si en lugar de basarse en la tradición, y en la religión adoptaba una fe en el progreso, y se modernizaba. Año 11918 consigue la independencia, Pilsudski derrota a los comunistas, y en 1989 un Papa santo polaco llamado Juan Pablo II como un nuevo Moises consigue junto a otros librar a Polonia de las garras del comunismo. Existe algo más que el poder militar, y la semiciencia como la llama brillantemente Dostoyevski en “Los demonios” la ciencia es buena y ayuda en mucha cantidad a conocer a Dios, pero como arguyó el ruso no debe convertirse en un ídolo, que intente suplantarlo, como intentan los campeones del ateísmo. Un grupo de científicos, que hacen filosofía, y la hacen mal.
Esto deja tocado el enfoque de Boleslaw Prus, a parte de esto el libro adolece de un grave defecto es insufriblemente largo, y muy pesado. Es curioso Prus, que era crítico con Sienkiewicz y le afeo los errores históricos en su trilogía polaca. Los comete, y más que él. Primero guiándose por la historia de Ignacy Zagniell con un ficticio Faraón de la XX dinastía. Luego no tiene ni idea a un fenicio le pone el nombre de Dagon, que es una deidad filistea, se inventa un rey fenicio Hiram, que es muy posterior. No se sabe los reyes asirios y se intenta uno llamado Assar, y un legado llamado Sargón. Durante la novela un sacerdote caldeo habla de la posibilidad de que Egipto sea devorado por Asiria. Todavía le quedaría mucha independencia a Egipto, que no sería conquistada por Asiria hasta el siglo VII a.c. con Asarhadon, y Assurbanipal. Vemos como otro de los nombres es Tamar, que es nombre hebreo. Por no hablar del uso de metales que en esa época no existía. Dice el autor del prólogo que el autor busca la perfección psicológica, y que no hay un melodrama al estilo de las novelas de Walter Scott, pero es lo único, que en realidad hay. El matrimonio con la judía Sara es poco creíble, y su suplantación por Kama también. Esa trama es enormemente débil, y poco creíble. La lucha entre Ramses XIII y los sacerdotes Herhor (un moderno Richelieu, Cisneros) Mefres, y Mentezufis es más personal que religiosa. Veremos cómo al final se lleva a cabo las políticas sociales de Ramses XIII, lo que me lleva a hacerme otra pregunta. Egipto empieza a decaer a partir de la dinastía XXI a lo mejor las políticas del impetuoso, y orgulloso faraón no eran tan buenas, si acaban llevando al declive de su pueblo. Ciertamente aunque las políticas sociales que propone Ramses son justas y razonables, y pueden ser compatibles con distributismo, y la política social de la Iglesia. Lo que preocupa es devolver al estado, y darle un poder omnímodo, como el que tuvo en época de los Cesares, dónde se llegó a la divinización del Emperador, sin llegar a protegerlo. Vemos que la persona pierde derechos, y no puede hacer nada sin que el Papá Estado se lo indique esto es muy preocupante, y uno empieza a entender porque esta era la novela favorita del genocida Iosif Stalin (si hay una damnatio memoriae para Hitler y el nazismo, también debería haberla para el comunismo). Pese a su amistad con Zeromski quiero creer que Prus no buscaba un Estado Socialista, y que pensaba que este modelo era lo mejor para Polonia.
Esta novela tiene algunas cosas buenas como que no es una novela de buenos, y malos y que los personajes son grises, que es realista, aunque Prus tiende a caer en el fatalismo. No teniendo sus novelas un final feliz. Recomiendo su relato sacado de la “Muñeca” de “Cuentos populares polacos” Muy posiblemente esta novela inspirará a la de Mika Waltari, pero la suya, salvo los fallos, que le halló Alfonseca es más históricamente verosímil, y a parte de tener una índole religiosa el culto de Akenatón es un culto protocristiano. Es la lucha del individuo contra la tiranía, y es lo que hace la novela de Mika Waltari mítica y verdadera. Aquí es una lucha de antagonismos que acaban por aburrir al lector, y que resuelve de forma muy chusca, como si fuera una novela juvenil de Mark Twain, o un comic de Tintín. Está bien para jóvenes, pero no para lectores expertos. Si me fascinó una cosa de la novela de Prus la aparición del Doppelganger, o el doble maligno, que estás muy presente en el romanticismo alemán. En este caso la némesis de Ramses a parte de Herhor es un mercenario griego venal, y sin escrúpulos. Algún personaje merece atención como Pentuer, o el amanerado Tutmosis. También es interesante el dilema de si extranjeros sí (en este caso los fenicios son el chivo expiatorio), o si se siguen políticas laicistas.
Con todo es el peor título hasta el momento, aunque no es peor, que otros títulos que he leído.
