Rebel Book

Armand is a fallen angel who's mission on earth is the assassinate presidential candidate Maximilian Blackstone but things go horribly wrong when his partner Baruch is shot and taken by the society to be harvested. In order to save his friend and complete his mission so he may rejoin his fellow angels in heaven, Armand will need to work with the very wraith responsible for the situation he is in. Theodora is a wraith, some one that doesn't officially exist, and takes care of the ones she loves and keeps hidden by going after bounties from assassinations. After a botched hit, Theodora reluctantly works with Armand to help complete his mission. It isn't long before their walls start to come down and they stop seeing each other as enemies but rather the part of themselves that is missing. Their new found love and trust in each other will be tested when they will not only try to save Baruch but help save the world.

I did not care for Armand or Theodora at first. Armand complained and complained about the situation he volunteered for but didn't do much to change it. Theodora's way of putting cred (money) over human life rubbed me the wrong way. She claimed to go out after the Oracle to help one of the Shade's (humans born with a physical defect and not considered normal) when she knew that he would never want such a thing. They were both really set in their ways of thinking until they met each other. Armand showed Theodora that she could trust, love and rely on others and through his strong faith, gave her hope. Theodora in turn showed Armand the true pleasures of being human and gave him a reason to fight. Both these characters are passionate and loyal to those they care about and in the end, they were two of my favorite characters from the series.

Rebel is the final chapter in the Prometheus Project trilogy. We see even more of the horrible ways the Shades are treated but the time finally comes for them to stand up and demand change. You really wanted to stand up and cheer for them. All the familiar characters of the series are back and ready to bring those responsible for the repression and evil behind the scenes scheming, to justice. Rebel takes the unusual mix of science, romance and religion and make it not only work well but make it a wonderful read. Rebel definitely takes the series out with a bang.
