This was a great book on the ART of knitting. And yes it is an art, not a craft, a hobby or something that just little old ladies in rocking chairs do. Knitting is something that can be as simple as a garter stitch scarf or as complex as a lace or cable shawl or afghan.
This book is comprised of short essays from those who have knitted and one or two from those who don't.
No there are no patterns but it is a lovely book nonetheless.
