Training Your Pet Hamster
For someone who is new to hamster care and wants to learn more about them, this is a good book for them. Speaking of hamster care, the title Training Your Pet Hamster is nonetheless misleading. There was little to none about actually TRAINING a pet hamster, it was mostly about the care.
This book I feel is more targeted towards tweens (maybe 12-15-year-olds, 15 at the latest) due to the lack of seriousness in the writing. It's written in a humorous, interesting way that I feel like someone older would not appreciate. Also, another reason is due to the just slightly under the 100-page length of this book.
The book itself, the writing, and the information isn't the case for the rating - it's all the misleading titles and headings throughout the book that made me bump it down. If we're rating it just off of the content itself, I would give this book a 4, probably even a 4.5-star rating.
I feel like, overall, though, that this a good book, but you just have to keep in mind that if you want to learn about legitimately training your pet hamster (which you CAN do) and headings for sections that actually, oh, I don't know, describe what that section is about, that this isn't the book for you.
