Here is the story of a poor couple, Della and Jim - a story of sacrifice and selfless love - as the author puts it, Della and Jim are foolish and also the wisest! Despite their poverty, they look to show their love for each other with a special Christmas gift and were ready to make the required sacrifice, with a smile.
Originally published on 10th December 1905, this story seems to be more needed and relevant for today than ever before. We all seem to have become so self-obsessed that we prefer holding on to things and possessions - `Selfless love` is almost extinct, and it is all about `What`s in it for me` -
