What an absolute gem of a book, I loved it from start to finish - it was one that I wanted to finish to find the answer to the mystery, even though I had guessed and that I did not want to finish because I loved the characters so much.
At the start of the book we have Marguerite Piccard and Philippe (Marquis de St Martin) together, she is his mistress and they love each other very much but someone wants them apart. He threatens them, then Philippe is attacked and almost killed, along comes another who marries Marguerite and she leaves to protect Philippe.
Move forward 22 years and we meet Simon Quinn, he is a mercenary and at a party he meets Lynette Baillon but he thinks she is her twin sister Lysette. He has spent months with Lysette and had no sexual interest in her so he cannot understand why he is suddenly so drawn to her. As far as Lynette is concerned her sister died 2 years ago.
This has one of the best mysteries that I have read in awhile and the story came together so well. I love Sylvia Day as an author I do hope the library will get more of her books.
