This is an edited text that draws its title from the topic of a debate between Paul Kurtz and William Lane Craig. The first chapter is an edited transcript of the original debate. Chapters 2-8 are contributions from philosophers and theologians (non-theists and theists). The final two chapters are the closing remarks and responses of Craig and Kurtz, respectively.
I am a theist who read this book as part of a moral apologetics class in a graduate seminary program at a conservative Christian university. That being said, I found it to be fascinating reading. The non-theists present some well developed and compelling arguments. And the theists present arguments that one (being a theist) might not have expected.
It's worth the read for anyone interested in contemporary debates between theistic and non-theistic moral philosophers.
