It remains questionable to me whether this book is an attempt to offset Heidegger with Derrida, Derrida with Heidegger, or is instead a creative appropriation of both for the sake of some third way. Twenty years later, I think the book retains its resonance. Its nuanced demonstration of what counts as practice continues to work as a crucial understanding of the deconstructive project and the metaphysical foundations of traditional Ethics.
