If you've ever looked in the "Local History" section of a bookstore, you've found books in this series. Many are full of photos with little accompanying text. However, this book about the Cleveland Park neighborhood of Washington, DC is different.... it has excellent explanatory photo captions and some concise, but helpful, chapter introductions. Fascinating information and history that DC area residents will enjoy, along with those intrigued by the land development of the Capitol neighborhoods.
