Good collection of photos of Filipinos in the Carson and South Bay areas of Southern California. There is a lot of terrific Filipino American history within these pages, from the early Filipino workers (manongs) to today's community leaders. The photos are interesting, but it's the captions that are worth the cover price alone: from the rise of Filipino civic organizations to the creation of college-level Filipino American studies classes, authors Florante Peter Ibanez and Roselyn Estepa Ibanez have done a wonderful job of providing an overview of the Filipino American experience.
