Greeks of Stark County, Ohio
Well-written profiles of real women who made good accomplishments in America as they also had to contend with the stigma of being bi-racial--American Indian and Caucasian.
Peterson's style is easy to read and her research immaculate. Her subjects are presented chronologically, from early U.S. history to women born in the late 1800s. Each story has a bibliography and notes. The book is indexed.
Some of her other books are listed at GoodReads under Nancy M. Peterson, although the bottom two on the list, probably are different Nancy M.s. I think that's why the "Mayborn" in her name on this book.
If you live in the Colorado area,I know she gives speaking engagements on this topic. If I lived closer, I'd go. (sigh)
