Un «cyborg», abreviatura de «cybernetic organism», es un hombre máquina autorregulado cuyas piezas biológicas y mecánicas se integran en un único sistema. Es una de las intuiciones más brillantes de la ciencia-ficción. Los técnicos para quienes la obtención del «cyborg» es ya cosa hecha, no tuvieron más que recoger la idea y el nombre.
